Lime × White Flowers × Wet Stone
Kayagatake Koshu is sourced from the Kayagatake vineyard, located at the foothills of Mt. Yatsugatake in Yamanashi Prefecture. This high-altitude site, blessed with cooler temperatures and significant diurnal range, allows Koshu to ripen slowly while retaining vibrant acidity and purity of fruit. Planted with a clear focus on expressing place, the Kayagatake vineyard highlights a more linear, mineral-driven side of Koshu. Compared to wines from lower elevations, this Koshu shows greater tension and precision, shaped by the cool climate and well-drained soils of the Yatsugatake area. First released as a single-vineyard wine, Kayagatake Koshu reflects Grace Wine’s ongoing pursuit to define the true potential of Koshu through terroir. It is a wine made not to impress with power, but to quietly elevate food, making it particularly suited to the dining table and to refined Japanese cuisine.
