Smokestack Lightning is an early 50’s Delta Blues track originally played by Howlin’ Wolf.  It’s an edgy song and genre that uses minimal input to create raw expressions. 
Smokestack Lightning explores white skin contact fermentation (orange wine) from grapes grown on stunning Hawke’s Bay soils. Sympathetically, this wine walks a tightrope between raw vineyard expressions, vintage and style. Orange fruits, savoury, spice, florals and ginger.
This fresh aromatic precedes a gentle and dry mouthfeel which flows across the palate. A light tannin/acid grip adds to the savoury backbone of this wine as it finishes with a slight grapefruit bitterness.
