Manns Wines Chikumagawa Pinot Noir
The appearance is clear, with a slightly orange-tinged pale ruby color. The aroma is gentle yet complex, featuring elements of raspberry, cherry, violet, and hints of black tea. The palate reveals a soft fruitiness upon the initial taste, followed by a subtle acidity and tannins emerging later on. The result is a delicate and gentle wine, characteristic of Pinot Noir from the Chikumagawa Wine Valley.
Manns Wines uses Pinot Noir from their own meticulously managed vineyards in the eastern region of the Chikumagawa Wine Valley in Nagano Prefecture. The grapes are hand-harvested and carefully selected, with the clusters processed without destemming to undergo whole-cluster fermentation. After fermentation, the wine is aged in barrels for approximately 18 months. This wine represents a rare venture by Manns Wines into the realm of Pinot Noir.
