Cusumano is a winery that was only established in 2000 but is very popular for its quality and value for money. Run by two brothers, Alberto and Diego, the company owns eight vineyards in Sicily. The winery is with a promising future that continues to take on challenges while respecting tradition, such as growing grapes that make the most of the terroir of each region and using large barrels for local grapes and small barrels for foreign varieties. The balance between restrained aroma and robust flavour is unique to Italy. In particular, This Alta Mora is a typical example of the sunny but cooler northern part of Etna.
With its tropical fruitiness, unique minerality and herbal notes derived from volcanic ash soils, it is one of the white wines that truly expresses the Etna's terroir.
Hiro's recommendation is to start drinking it chilled, as it is such a highly acidic grape variety that MLF does not occur naturally, so you should first enjoy the acidity derived from Carricante. By raising the temperature little by little, without putting it in a wine cooler, you can enjoy the specificity of the terroir and the different expressions of the wine.
