The 2022 TBA 'Gold Capsule' is an extraordinary Riesling.
At harvest, the grapes measured just over 50° Brix—the maximum our hydrometer could record—so the actual sugar content may have been even higher. With a residual sugar of 308g/L (latest test 314g/L) and nearly double the acidity of previous TBAs, this wine is an exceptionally rare and remarkable expression of botrytized Riesling. The 'Gold Capsule' designation reflects its remarkable richness—around 230 Oechsle—a level seldom seen in Germany. In Martinborough in particular, it is highly unlikely we will see a wine of this caliber again in the near future. This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime tasting experience.
